Samuel L. Waltz Jr., APR, Fellow PRSA,
the founder & president of Sam Waltz &

executive coaching and senior counsel. A
global industry leader, he served as the CEO
of the Public Relations Society of America,
the world’s largest professional society of
business communications executives.
As a senior executive with the DuPont
Company, Sam’s responsibilities included
strategic business & marketing planning,
crisis management, investor & government
relations, international relations,
advertising & publicity, training and speech
writing. Formerly, Sam covered politics as
Delaware Capital Bureau Chief for the
Wilmington (DE) News Journal.
As adjunct communications professor at
the University of Delaware, he created one
of the country’s first courses in issues &
crisis management. He also has taught public
affairs journalism at the University of
Illinois, where he earned BS & MS degrees in
communications. Sam also has completed
doctoral courses in public policy at the
University of Delaware.
Sam serves on the National Advisory
Committee to the US Small Business
Administration (SBA). He chairs the Delaware
Leadership Council of the National
Federation of Independent Business (NFIB)
and serves on the Board of Directors of the
Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Delaware and
on the Advisory Council to the University of
Delaware’s Center for Economic Education &
Entrepreneurship. He chaired Delaware’s
Delegation to the White House Conference on
Small Business and chaired the Governor’s
Conferences on Small Business in 1995 &
1997.
Sam speaks regularly on research and
strategic planning, behavioral change
management, relationship management,
reputation management, public affairs,
marketing, leadership & diversity. He has
presented speeches in 25 states (including
the prestigious Economic Club of Detroit),
the United Kingdom, Mexico and Canada. In
2002 Waltz co-authored two books, Thriving
in the Midst of Change and Fantastic
Customer Service Inside & Out. He has
chaired the First Amendment Congress of
Delaware and served as President of the
Lincoln Club of Delaware. |
